How many of you put your sticks in a dry box a day or two before you smoke them ?
I read about this a few months ago and tried it. It really makes your cigars burn and smoke better, especially Gurkha cigars.
I've yet to smoke a Gurkha that didn't tunnel. Now that I'm dry boxing them, they smoke perfectly.

To answer your question, no. I store my stuff at optimal conditions given my local climate and preference.

I keep about 5-10 smoke in my travel humi with a 62% boveda...... I think your issue is the cigars you smoke hehehe

Other than winter I keep a humidor in the garage which varies from the high fifties to the low sixties. Seems to work great as I have yet to have a Gurk explode. Tunneling is a problem I sometimes have when I'm working and smoking and have the cigar in my mouth nearly all the time.

Rarely have issues once I started keeping everything at 65. All sorts of problems at 70 (and above)

I experimented with 62, and that worked too, but I was afraid of storing long term at 62. I do have an ammo can or two with 62% bovedas, but those have yard gars.

I played with dry boxing, and it seemed to work initially, but once I gave my cigars several months to a year plus at 65% I've not had an issue. Fresh cigars with less than a few months in the humidor sometimes have burn issues, so dry boxing would likely benefit in that instance.

I super-saturate my Gurks with high levels of humidity at high temperates so that mold growth is accelerated and no one can smoke them. This is a very important aging process for my gurkha's.

I keep my frigidor at 65 now, but my everyday humidor closer to 69 since I'm in and out of it regularly. I have specific cigars I will drybox, though. Some that smoke better closer to 60. But that's a small percentage.

Well, I got a few serious answers and [sarcasm]
I've found that most of my smokes don't like 70 RH. I'm keeping everything at 65 RH now.

Some pretty funny stuff.

I don't dry box. Winter time in OK is so dry, I fight to keep the humidity in. I have 65 beads in all the humis and my humidity stays around 63 in non winter months and slightly lower than 60 during the winter.

Maybe that is unintentionally dry boxing them in winter.
