Well our base is on the hit list.

I am glad we are moving out of this area before this takes place. The economy here depends on this base.

As do all communities with a base near them.

Some of the closures make sense. Some don't.

I can only speak to the Navy bases though and this is MY PERSONAL opinion. I have no professional opinion.

I see Scott AFB is not going to be closed - about 20 minutes from my house.

I sort of hope that they close Patrick AFB in Florida, nothing really happens there since the U2 was grounded.

It is speculated that a new inlet between the ocean and the Indian/Banana River will be made once this becomes public land.
