Due to this, the union will be much tougher to deal with at the next collective bargaining session. They lost a ton under Upshaw and haven't recovered when compared to other major sports players. Most of their contracts mean zippo.
The haters are gonna hate this even more, but the Pats brass saw this coming and restructured TB12's contract when the season ended so it will cost him very little per game, and help their overall money/cap situation. They've been signing players like crazy and will be very strong again.
