Probably can't go wrong with a John Deere or Cub Cadet.

I had a Deere with 17.5 hp engine for six years and never had a problem with it. It was easy to service as far as oil and filter. Would not have sold the Deere but we moved and new location had enough slope to front yard that the Deere would be a rollover risk.

I currently have had a Cadet zero turn with 22 hp engine for five years. No problems to date. I do have to replace the blades each year but that is due to the sandy soil on the coast and would be true for any brand used weekly.

The new John Deere x758 is nice!!!, just depend's how much you want to spend. The new Deere starts around 14,000 and goes up.

I've got a little under 2 acres to cut with a mower...the rest is tractor...for cutting grass I got tired of riding tractors and bought a zero turn. Best money I ever spent. My 4 hours went down to 45 minutes.

Omar, as Drafter subtly pointed out, you'd best check with Coop and Cooper first....or at least prior to posting a picture of 'your tractor' here

Oh...and I have zero input...I moved to a townhouse for the express purpose of being able to cut the front and back with a weedless weedwhacker on a single charge....and we advise that you not let your sister near it....tends not to end well

+ 1 on the zero turn.

My parents have 5 acres and I can cut grass in less than 2 hours on the zero turn.

My advice. Spend the extra money and get the commercial grade. 2 reasons

Metal fatigue is a big deal on the cheap models.

When needing service, you get moved to the front of the line.
True story, I dropped off dads mower and they said it would be 3 weeks until they got to it for service. I explained its commercial and I make a living using it.( yeah I lied). It was ready in 2 days.

We have 3 acres to mow at our home and 2 acres to mow at my moms which equates to 4 cigars on my John Deere rider.

My time to reflect.

Can't beat the Echo for weed eating. Had mine for 16 years. Burned through a couple of heads but no issues with the motor at all.
