So a buddy sends me a link to a 30 min video about this stuff. It's a powder that clots blood in emergency situations.

He knows that I take Coumadin due to having a mechanical heart valve. He says he's buying some for me.

I'll be honest this crap is some scary stuff. What happens if it gets in your blood stream? Permanent clot???

So does anyone have some? Anyone ever used it? If you know anything about it, you know more than me.

I know that similar products are used by the military and EMS in emergency situations. I wouldn't use it without talking to your heart doctor. 🍺

I'm assuming it's styptic powder, which had been around for a long time. Use it when I cut the dogs nails too short lol. Works well but I agree with buckwheat.

AKA Quick Clot, Celox Wonder dust and Wound Seal. You can buy it too:

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=quikclot%20powder

There is another foam like material that is injected into a gaping wound to do the same, no idea if it's on the market/over the counter.

Gunpowder and a match works too.. I saw Clint Eastwood do it before he went crazy and started talking to empty chairs.

I've used dermabond aka superglue both in personal and professional roles.

The clotting products typically aren't going to cause much damage, though I'd recommend applying pressure directly to the wound and expedite your trip to the local hospital before deploying one of those products.

They're typically reserved for field use in massive trauma cases. Not to be used outside of life threatening injury.
