I've never had rye whiskey but this is on my "must try" list for the weekend.

The day before you posted this pic, we gave a friend a bottle for her birthday. Ended up enjoying a glass as a toast. It had been a few years since I had Sazerac. Wow, it is just as good as I remembered. I will definitely have a glass. Can't wait to see you fellers!

I bought a case last time I saw it on shelves at a reasonable price.

If only I could find more weller 12s ; ;

But my local got me a bottle of CEHT Seasoned Wood to go with my Cured Oak, Barrel Proof, SiB, SmB, and Rye. Wish I had the Tornado or Sour Mash to complete the vertical...

Rye is smooth.

A friend got me a bottle. At least, that is what she said. She sent me a pic of the bottle. She is a very good friend, so I still have hope that friendship outweighs the deliciousness of the Sazerac.

I suppose we should be telling people how bad it is. Kinda like giving our fav smokes negative reviews to keep bids low.

I'm a recent convert to rye whiskey. Sazerac was my first try at rye... great stuff!

Sazerac is a favorite for me out of all the whiskeys I have tried. Basil and Bakers is pretty high up there as well

Hmmm, tried rye once but didn't care for it. Gonna have to revisit.

Alot of variety out there. Rye has more spice. To legally be a rye its just 51% rye but the selection out there varies with many being the 95% MGP Rye distilled in Indiana and sold to NDPs. I'm very fond of Rittenhouse Rye, SAOS Ryes, Willet Ryes, High West Ryes (the last three are mostly 95% MGP unless you get the young Willet or the old High West).

I've heard good things about the newer pikesville rye (51% rye) too but haven't tried myself.

SOme people have even said good things about Crown Royal Rye, Jack Daniels Rye, Dickel Rye. I haven't tried any of those.

I've not been impressed by the whistlepig or masterson's products with the hefty price tage they carry
