Damn Vic, sure glad my wife ain't about jewelry. Never understood the point of it. Think I bought her a necklace once way back when we were dating, and that was it. Only bought that because a distant relative's jewelry store was going out of business and I got it at cost.

Poor Victor.

Let her get her trinkets... then when you want a boat, she'll be cool with it. 😁

There you go.

Though, where's Victor gonna store a boat?

I've got acres of space, he's got feets.

SF has plenty of mooring spaces, I'm sure... but it'll be about as much as his rent. 🤦

Probably more. My rent's only 2400.

Well yeah. But where are you going to find a half a million dollar house in SF?

Valid point... but then I have no desire to live in that retarded city in this retarded state.

IF I even have half an inkling to stay in this God-forsaken fruit-ville, it would be in San Diego.

Well, I like being in a city. Unfortunately for me, so do enough people that property prices are high.

You're lucky if you're happy elsewhere.

I don't even bring home 2400/mo.

Pffft... a custom log cabin in the middle of some wilderness would be nice. With my closest neighbor just out of rifle range.

But the wife wouldn't like it and the ocean would be too far away.

Live on the boat and anchor off shore....becoming harder to do as cities try to regulate everything, but it is the law of the sea still in many places.

Me?

I make a fair wage for the region. Could make more if I worked more, but I'm happy with my 7on/7off. I'd make nearly double if I was willing to commute to Chicago. But I hate the city with every ounce of my being.

I got almost halfway there. Closest neighbors to the rear are out of handgun range. It's a nice place. Parents got land 20m south with neighbors outside of standard rifle range. About 3.5 miles of open space.

I get 2%/yr. Asking for more does nothing. Everyone's paid off a grid and it's pretty much fixed. Max cap is $30/hr, can't go over that. Sadly, new hires start off over $1.00/hr higher than me with 6 years in. I've brought this to HR, they pointed out the grid and shrugged shoulders. Only way is to change employers.

But, I get a week on, week off. That's damn near priceless. I'm not going to get that arrangement anywhere else.

Camping trip starts tomorrow if weather cooperates. I called and cancelled Sunday night because weather forecast isn't favorable. Saves 20 bucks, and check in on Sunday is 5pm anyhow.

But, if skies are clear, we're packed and ready.
