I've been looking at the Keltec KSG. It's a bullpup 12 guage shotgun, holds 12 3" shells and is 26.1" in total length. I have absolutely no need for it but it looks fun as he'll and home defense could be a good excuse to pick one up.

Last weekend I drove up to Nebraska for SilencerCo'S Quiet Riot and shot a 12 guage with their Salvo suppressor. Another non necessity but with sub sonic ammo it was like shooting a 22 rifle and sounded like pulling an air hose off a compressor.

Had a KSG, someone made an offer in couldn't turn down, and sold it.

Had a 590A1, too dang heavy for anything but being a tacticool toy. Sold it.

Bought one of those shorty break barrel sxs coach guns. Was pretty useless as well. Was cool to have, but I sold it.

Got a decent deal on an M4 Benelli, but it too left my safe...

They were all fun in a way, but none were all that fun to shoot. The m4 was the best of the bunch, but still not my favorite shotgun.

Dang it, I'm always late to the party.

Planning to do the same thing to my 870 express magnum.

It literally takes 30 seconds to put the 28 inch barrel back on for bird hunting.

Plans are for a Remington 18.5 inch barrel with the tacticool breacher. Hogue 12 inch stock and fore grip. 6 Shell saddle with 1913 picatinny rail.

Haven't decided on which +2 extension to use yet but it will have one. That reminds me I need to grind down the two guide nubs inside the magazine.

I have it loaded with bb shot right now. Last shell in the mag is a cut shell.

I have a lot of opinions on your project but I'll just go ahead and show you the most masculine shotgun made at the moment. When you open up the box you can smell the testosterone!!

Have you ever eaten an MRE? They will do if that is all you have but don't know of anyone that would spend 1K on MRE's other than DOD.

I like MREs. But, that may be because I've never eaten a lot of them in succession.

As for the shotgun, consider this stock:

http://blackhawk.com/Products/Long-Gun-Accessories/Stocks/Shotgun/Knoxx-SpecOps-Stock-Gen-III.aspx

Dual recoil-reduction mechanisms for a claimed 80% reduction. Having tested one of its predecessor models, I can say the recoil reduction was VERY impressive, and they only claimed a 50% reduction on that earlier model. Looks like you get a free foreend with a little light rail built-in, too. Pretty cool.
