The thickness difference is very, very small. If it matters to you, I understand, but holding them side-by-side, it's hard to see how it'd ever matter in any practical sense. I've never found printing to be an issue with a proper pocket holster, either. As I said above though, I'm a big guy. Smaller people with smaller pants might have more problems with it.

That's a much more serious issue. How a gun fits a hand is very, very important indeed, and is a very personal thing!

Many firefights require more than 6+1, though.

You're talking about a percentage of a fractional percentage.

I would add, weather and dress play a huge role. My brother carries a H&K P2000 which is technically a mid sized pistol, but it's too much to conceal in hot weather with appropriate dress. So he carries nothing except his knife. In cold weather I can carry my USP but it's cumbersome. If an individual isn't comfortable carrying it, I believe it shows, and they often choose not to. I'd take 6+1 over a knife any day, and I do.

FYI I have normal hands and I've tackled a deer. My brother looks like a sasquatch, he also doesn't care for the 26/27.

It is totally a personal objective thing though.

That's what came to my mind as well. I don't want configurations, or lots of options for a concealed carry. I want it to keep hidden comfortably, and work when (if) I need it.

Still drooling over a cz 75 b matte stainless. Full sized so if I carry it I'll have to put it where most people's deke bulge is. Being Irish has its advantages.

If a handgun does not feel like an extension of your arm you're never going to be competent with it in a firefight.The very last thing I look at on a handgun is the sights simply because I don't use them.As a matter of fact if they interfere with carry or draw I remove them.I've stated this before............if you ever need to use your sidearm in self defense it is almost always under 15' and usually inside of 7'.This is no more than an instinctive draw placing rounds in body mass.My fartherest target in training is no more than 15'.

My point is if you get hung up on using sights you're going to be a lousy teammate in a true firefight and a disaster on your own.True proficiency comes when you can move towards the target at angles placing lead in body mass.......When this is achieved you have become a nightmare to any douchebag who pulls a weapon on you.

BTW my carry piece is a Glock 26.........love it.

I carry a spare mag 6+1+6. Round of choice is Hornady critical defense. If 13 rounds doesn't get myself and my family out of the immediate threat area then we are in some serious sh1t.


I can wear mesh gym shorts with a t shirt and you would never know I had my g43 in a Tagua iwb on my right side.

yea when i wear my jnco jeans i use my sub2000 as a pocket gun too.

im an above average height and build guy and when i wear normal jeans or shorts there is nothing comfortable or even practical about a glock 26 in my pocket, regardless of the holster. if i get it in there it is, at the very least, extremely difficult to retrieve.

for you and the other "thousands of individuals carrying them in pockets for over 20 years now" i would suggest there are hundreds of thousands that are under no delusion that it is a true "pocket gun."

Everbody's different, I suppose. I have a few family members and friends who pocket carry them, from a tall lard-ass to a tall skinny-ish guy to a 77-year-old average-sized man, and I've never heard any complaints or even any mention of them being impractically large.

I've heard others grumble about it a bit, though. I suspect it has to do with thigh size (and pants size), hand size and/or just plain personal preferences. This is why they make lots of different models, I suppose! Gotta find what works best for you.

agreed.

i am a subscriber to the some gun is better than no gun school of thought so, because of comfort, i pocket carry a lot and usually end up with a .380.

if it works for ya then id agree that a 26 is about the best pocket gun you can get.

Went to an auction Monday evening, came home with a Glock 42 and a purple Ruger LC9s.

Shot them both today. The Glock 42 was 100% reliable in my hands shooting hardball and Fiocchi XTP hollow point rounds. It shot to the point of aim. The Glock 42 is not much heavier but is larger overall than my Ruger LCP. The Glock is much easier and more comfortable to shoot.

When I handed it to my wife it stovepiped on every shot for my wife. 🤐 The Ruger LC9s, a small 9mm pistol, worked just fine. My wife is a very good pistol shot, deadly with a 1911 and a SIG P220 both are .45 ACP pistols. She tends to allow a pistol to rise to absorb recoil. This can cause small and especially lightweight pistols, like the Glock 42, to malfunction. Some will say limp wristing, but her wrist is not bending, her entire arm moves. She carries a Ruger LCP revolver.

These are two small pistols with limited capacity, along with most often carried KelTec .32 ACP semiauto, eight shots in a tiny package. They are great for summer concealed carry in light clothing. Sure, there are lots of pistols with more capacity and harder hitting rounds, but they are not easy to carry concealed. If I am that worried about the multiple assailants and sustained fire, A I have no business there and B I'd bring a rifle and a lot of full magazines.

I just picked up a Glock 42 380 as a birthday gift for my wife. The purchase was made after she shot several different handguns over a period of a few weeks. Being a small woman (5Ft), with small hands, she said this felt the most natural in her hand.

Get the ghost connector for the trigger.

Your information is accurate, but your opinions miss the target.

First off, one would ask why is this friend considering a small .380? Is this friend male or female? Recoil sensitive? Hand Size? Max footprint size?

I have shot and or own every one of the firearms you mentioned. The 26 and 27 are larger than the 43. How significant depends on the person holding the gun. To you it may not be significant. To others perhaps it is.

If someone is purchasing a 43 for concealed carry I seriously doubt the want to worry about concealing a couple extra 22 round double stack magazines.

If you want to help as was your stated goal, perhaps you should ask a few questions before trying to sell someone a pair of thigh high boots when they really want a pair of sneakers.
