Not long ago, while looking for something else, I ran across this article by some cigar guru that said when you

receive your cigars, they are pretty much ready to smoke. After three months, they enter a sick period for up

to a year. Can't find it again and have not seen anything else about it. Or am I in the twilight zone?

Mine were sick when I got them but after a trip to the Dr. and some antibiotics it only took about 10 days for them to start feeling better.

They a very fresh when delivered, and worth a try if you've never had a fresh cigar. But after a few months they will go into a sick period. It's best to let them rest for at least 12-18 months. Cubans however are not as fresh in comparison and are usually through their sick period before being delivered. A long nap is still highly recommended though.
