Every year I give it a try. After 3yrs I finally won! The only "legitimate" winner of the day as she put it.
I didn't make a ball on the break. She then made 2, missed, and left the cue ball in the corner with a long tough shot. I missed. She ran another 3, then scratched giving me cue ball-in-hand. I ran 7 balls + the 8 while being "sharked".

Congrats! I hope being sharked means something different in pool than it does in Japanese culture...
