Nothing from The Doors should be mentioned. Maybe......no, nothing!

I personally could also argue for "Rush" through *Moving Pictures" but I know a lot of people aren't smart enough to "get" Rush

I've heard the same thing said about Metallica.. you can 'get it' all you want but I'm not buying it... 🤐

oh wait, I did buy Moving Pictures back in da day... 🤔

2112 is masterful. I like the older Metallica best. Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets were all badass.

Megadeth - Cryptic Writings... the whole damn thing just wails.

Yeah.

Because it takes intelligence to "get" over-produced mediocre music.

Just because you blew Geddy doesn't make you some kind of Rush expert... 🤐

Individually great musicians.

A handful of good songs.

A theatrical, subpar live show (although I only saw them once around 1984 timeframe).

Geddy Lee's voice is horrendous.

Like fingers down a chalkboard.

Which is why their albums are "over-produced". To hide this fact.

I like them.

But their name doesn't belong in a discussion of "best" anything.

I feel the same way about Prince. I liked Morris Day and the Time much better. I've always been able to choose the winner LOL.

As for RUSH they belong in the conversation as much as anyone.... Not in my top 10 but I understand how they could be to someone.

Can't please everyone, I guess.

Hemispheres' La Villa Strangiato has no "over produced singing" in it. How do you explain IT's greatness?

That's perhaps the greatest 3 minutes of Rock Instrumental in history.

Too bad it's 9 minutes long.

I can't believe nobody has added

The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Might be my all time favorite band.

It's hard for me to narrow it down, but they are at the top.

Also add

Pearl Jam

Allman Brothers

Hendrix

U2

A no name band I love

Storyville.
