Our un-elected bi-sexual governess is trying to repeal the automatic approval if rejection is challenged and not responded to in 3 days. Even though nothings ever come of it here.

That's the thing. FFLs have been pressured by the politicos not to release them anyway. Walmart, gander, etc have capitulated. Combine that with the civil litigation costs and the ffl I am using (more of a custom AK shop) said he wouldn't take the risk for his best friend.

As for poles, I don't think I've ever met someone from Poland so don't know what yall are talking about.

Wonder how long I'll have to wait with my gun sitting at the shpo.

They've done more to litigate shops then people who RIGHTFULLY failed the back ground checks...by executive order here the State Police have to send a trooper (off the highway) to respond to a failed bgc. I believe in 2014 we had around 800 rejections, and zero arrests. By the time the OSP got there (when they actually did....) the people had left. They didn't follow up at all, you know asking for the info givendors on the form or video of the person in the shop ...nada.

I am a contrarian on a lot of the conspiracy things we talk about in here and will defend a democrat or republican (its democrat more than republican simply because of the slant in here) but this is not a conspiracy. The agenda is articulated and clearly out there. They can not change the law at this point (at least not immediately) so they are trying to do everything they can to make ownership more difficult in round about ways.

It's not sour grapes, I'll get mine. It's just more the type of thing folks should be talking abut other than the far out stuff. I see the same in health care. Can't get done what you want in the legitimate way? Maybe there is a way to get a better outcome in a non legitimate way.

There are folks that should be fine but wrongly get denied and have no appeal rights at this time due to resources and procedural issues that may never get resolved. I would think they have a solid civil rights suit. The problem is the government doesn't care because that would take massive time and resources and during that time they get what they want.

Combine that with those that keep getting delayed and the FFL can technically release after 3 days but many wont. In that instance the Government can and will blame the ffl and hide behind the fact they can but wont, while at the same time putting pressure on them not to. I've played a very similar game professionally and it sucks to do it but it is a winning strategy. Mine involved hospital discharges and pressuring doctors to discharge patients early while publicly saying insurance and governments don't discharge people....doctors do.

Bassards. They know exactly what they are doing.

Teedubya, one of the few Medicare "reforms" I liked was not paying a hospital for a re-admin within a week of discharge with the same Dx. We've seen huhe changes locally here to how the hospitals handle discharges, and are taking it very seriously which is good to see. Even if it's concern over lost money it's for a good reason.

I agree with you there. There have actually been a couple good ones in that regard.

My worst experience was in an HMO. I was in the doctors offices and hospitals telling them they had to discharge ob patents in 1 day (3 for C). They were expressing all sorts of angst from a medical and customer service perspective. I was telling them they had to or it would kill them financially in their referral pools etc. At the same time my boss was on tv telling the world we don't discharge people. If you have an issue with it blame your doc. they are the ones that discharge.

Ironically the readmisison payment changes would be contrary to what we were doing.

There are some other less than stellar things medicare and medicaid are doing however which I am sure you are aware of many.

Medicaid here will flat out lie to get out of payment, we've actually made them fax auths in writing because they deny phone auths like we'd make up the Auth # and risk a public audit..... we've almost completely cut ties with them.

Most of their managed care plan's here are exclusive and we lost that bid. Funny thing is we offered more, but the lady who decided the winning bids husband is a regional manager of one of our competitors who won the bid. It was supposed to be ONE company, but it ended up two. On the surface it reeked of having an out to say they offered it to a company that had no conflict of interest.

Oregon is a dirty state with corruption.

I worked with/for Medicaid in several different states for a decade or so. Some states are much better than others.

Thankfully they only lie about paying for high $ stuff, so we have that going for us.
