Just curios how much people tip in differnt situations? Waiters, bellman , maids , butlers, valet, and any others you can think of .

For me it's .

Waiters 10 to 20%
Bellman 1$ a bag on delivery
Valet 5$ when picking up each time . 5$ when I drop it off if I'm driving a "nice" vehicle .
Maids 2-3$ a day unless I need something extra from them
Butler 50-100$ at the end of the stay
Cocktail waitress 1$a drink unless she's being really attentive I may tip beforehand if I really want a drink soon or to get better drinks a certain casinos
Dealers it depends on how much I win and what I'm playing and what I'm playing for.

Some I'm not sure of
Barista ?
Pool girl ?
Massage therapist?

Waiters 15-20% ....cute, flirty waitresses..closer to 25%
-pizzes my wife off no end, but I have no problem NOT tipping if service was particularly crappy (despite what Live said,
) - but I'll also talk to manager...on the other hand, I frequently ask for the manager to complement exceptional service, as well

Bellman, porter or other 'bag guy' (bus driver, airport, etc.) 1$ a bag
Valet ....Nobody touches my car 🙂 Actually I'm way too cheap to ever valet...I'll park five blocks away before I pay someone to park my car
Maids - Often nothing, because that's the level of service I see lately; but for good service, usually $5-15 per stay
Butler ---wtf is a butler? Like Lurch?
Cocktail waitress/bartender.... .50-1$ a drink
Grocery baggers .25-.50 per bag...extra buck or two if they take out to the car
Towel dudes at car wash - generally a $5 in the box or to the guy who's 'turn it is' - they seem to have a system of rotating or taking turns as to who gets to hold the driver door open
Customs agent - $50 usually does it

'Tip jars' at coffee shops, donut shops, sandwich shops.....really just pizz me off

Covfireman...

Are you a MILLIONAIRE that travels all the time for business? Or a FED EMPLOYEE ON A PER DIEM?

WTF?

I tip 10-20% on meals and drinks if the
Service AND PURCHASES ARE GOOD...
If the food sucks, the beer is warm, & I DON'T get a new frosty glass every two drinks...
Then ,..
THE TIP GOES wayyyy SOUTH...QUICKLY...
PEOPLE SAY ..BLAME THE COOK OR THE OWNER..
I SAY F#ck that...
Go work at a quality place and get better tips...
Serve warm beer or nasty food...
I don't TIP.

TIP a butler?
What the f#ck is a butler?
I NEVER met one.

I only tip valet at hospitals, hotels, and special events mainly because every mid level place in houston is now requiring valet service for a fee. I'll tip at a good steakhouse but steakhouse valets are usually free.

I don't tip for counter or buffet service at restaurants.

Bartenders, if I'm a regular I tip 20-30% otherwise 5-20%

Restaurant servers/cocktail waitresses, 5-15%

Mechanics/repairmen get tipped in cigars/beer

I am a very relationship oriented person. I prefer to conduct business at places that want me to stick around. I generally do not have patience for service staff that is not personable and are cookie cutter people. Chili's, BW3, Texas Roadhouse, any of those big franchises where the servers all have canned responses and are robots get little attention. Although I have been a regular at the bar in the past at those places because of great bartenders.

That's the real key. Finding people who are personable that make you feel like you want to be there. Either that or silent service like at some of the great chinese restaurants. Y'know the type where you order and the refills are silent. The type where they just do their job, bus tables, and refill without asking "are you done" or "do you need a refill." Nothing is more vulgar than interrupting a guest's conversation over refills or table bussing.

I have been a waiter/bartender, so I know what good & bad service can be. I tip between 0-25%.
If she is hot, with big toobs, and leans over and presses them into my arm, this naturally elevates the tip.

:-)

My pilot, butler, cook, gardener, house staff, wife....I don't tip, bcuz they are already on the payroll.

Now then, the pool girl.....she is young, well toned and tanned, and smart enough to always show up in slightly too small one piece that wedges perfectly up her azz as she scoops bugs out of our pool. She does get a tip.......bcuz, well, hope springs eternal. Maybe I will get a chance to oil her and plook her later. Not sure yet.

Hope this helps!

Anybody see the "Mythbusters" episode where they have Kari working a shift at a coffee shop, then a week later (same day, same shift) she does it again while wearing a triple-D breast prosthetic and her tips for the day are 30% higher?

What a great show. It often confirms what we already suspected!

I agree with Deangelo Williams

Speaking of boobs how much do you tip at a topless female barber if a haircut and shave is $40 , brunette, potentially enhanced, a few motor boats and tight short shorts ? I didn't inquire a out any "extra " services she might do
