Got bit by the cigar bug earlier this year and have been enjoying the hell out of it ever since.

I'm a busy guy who didn't know how to sit for an entire hour doing nothing until I joined the BOTL. Although I'm on the border of Baby Boomer and Gen X, I seem to have inherited my grandparents' depression-era work ethic. I tend to be a "human doing" instead of a "human being." If I don't have 3 or 4 projects going at the same time, I get bored. I had to learn the hard way that the best way I could f**k up a good cigar was to try to do something else while smoking it.

Since cigars found me, I've discovered how cool it is to watch the light change as the sun gets low in the sky. And I've discovered how cool it is to just be in the freaking moment rather than always focusing on the next task.

I usually smoke alone, on my country porch. But I've recently discovered some friendly faces at our local cigar store/lounge. We are a pretty eclectic bunch of knuckleheads. I like this.

I keep a journal and know what I've liked so far. I'm on my third humidor with my converted wineador. I'm looking forward to continuing to discover more smoky amazingness as I explore more.

I look forward to building trade cred as I learn from the vets and lose my Noob smell.

Long walks on the beach? If there's a destination I'm trying to get to, cool stuff to pick up and look at or cool conversations to have with someone, awesome. Otherwise, I'd be bored out of my mind.

Thx, Palama. Aloha, Brah. The only adult beverage in which I partake on my front porch is strong coffee. Preferably Kona. Preferably hand-ground, by me, just before brewing. No judgment on the more traditional adult beverages or their partakers. To each their own, I say.
