Got a new buddy today. His name is Henry. When the Sheriff's Deputies found him and rescued him, he was almost dead from heat stroke. He was tied to a porch and an ALREADY DEAD Rottweiler and left to die by the POS drug dealers that abandoned the house. We got him at a shelter on Saturday and picked him today. He's a good boy that now has a good home. A dog is a good thing for a man's soul.

Welcome home, pal.

Good on you for picking up the Rescue dog. He will be forever thankful and loyal to you. After a 5 year absence, we picked up a puppy four weeks ago. Did not realize how much we were missing without a dog in the house.

Congrats man, teach him how to swim. My dog used to love swimming in the rice paddy when they were flooding it in the early spring.

Don't turn your back on that dog till he gets to know you.

Also,

Really watch him around kids ,

Until he gets domesticated back to normalcy.

Nothing quite like a rescue dog. Saved one 3 yrs ago on Christmas Eve, the **** was running from the law and left the dog chained to a trailer house next to a piece of property I leased...I would feed a water him every day thinking the AH would return, after about 2 weeks I cut the chain...the funny thing is the guy went to the sheriffs Office to file a report that I stole his dog and ended up getting arrested since there was still a warrant for him. Dog got a forever home and the AH went to jail

Rescues are the best. We have two a black and white cat named Whiskers and a dobie named Titan. Titan is content to stand next to me with his head in my lap. He'll follow me around with his muzzle in my hand. When I worked nights he would snuggle up next to me and sleep. But, if you're not a family member there's no way you'll get close one if he's nearby. Whiskers loves nothing more than to get up high and swipe Titan when he comes by.
