Yes, even though we are miles from the coast many businesses and our local schools have closed. The schools closed to receive evacuees from the coast.

from a direct hit. Our biggest concern is that trees will fall on the power lines. Last huricaine (12 years ago) we lost power for four days

we fear the ice here (and tornadoes to a degree).. have gone over a week with no power before.. but I have a nice generator now... Gas water heater and furnace so it won't be too bad if it happens again... 😟

We're good John. Moved into the trailer last night.

My heart goes out to everyone in Florida. It looks like Matthew is going to be brutal.

A woman friend of mine lives a bit west of FLL, all she texted me back was to leave her alone!
We had a good lol over her reply.
She's been busy closing the house, food, gas etc.
Looks like the worst they've had in a while.

Got a friend who lives in Florida, she flew out to Wisconsin yesterday.

74+ MPH winds forecasted for later today/tonight. Pulled all the outdoor furniture and assorted pool crap under the patio. Just need to refill a propane canister for our grill and I am all ready.
