Rick, the author's premise for "Amusing Ousrselves To Death" is right on the money. It transcends political affiliation, race, creed and religious boundries. It only deals with the demise of critical reading and thinking when we moved from a typeset learning into a media age of radio and television. Add commercialized tv and video games into the equation and the attention span gets even shorter.
I could think of a billion other people to send a book to then him. If its not something he can't google and be THE authoritative figure...its wasted on his cut and paste answers and political chop suey.
