My dad's been gone just more than 14 years now and there aren't many days that go by without my having thoughts about him ... and even though he and I spent a fair amount of one-on-one time together during his last 6 or 7 years, there were still some things left unsaid ... it's gotta be a lot worse for you because you had so many fewer years with your dad than I did and both of you are a great deal younger than my dad and I were at his passing ...
I think the best thing any among us can do, is to be sure we do a better job of communicating with our own sons or daughters and the others in our families ... I'll light a special one tonight in honor of your dad and mine, then pick up the phone and call my sons
