So the other day I went down to the crick to fish for some trout. As I stood there with my pole in my hand, or was I holding my pole with both hands. I don't remember. The morning turned to day. The day turned to afternoon and the afternoon turned to evening then it got dark. I heard a screech owl fly down from site roost. It must have caught something but I'm not sure if it spit it out. About that time I noticed the full moon which reminded me of little bit. Not sure why it reminded me of my goat. As soon stood there thinking about my goat I got a sudden urge. Sort of like an itch, in my pants. There happened to be a bench near by so I sat down and scratched my it. It don't ENT take long and my itch was relieved. I saw a possum come out and run down by the creek. I think it was looking for a toad or something to eat. It was getting chilly so I built a fire out of pine knots and some driftwood I found along the bank. I checked my line and a few minutes later I got a nibble on my pole. Felt like a mosquintapping my pole at first. Then it got stronger and stronger. I reeled in a nice brown trout but decided to throw it back in the water. A few minutes later I got another minor on my pole. This time it was much harder. Like something opened its mouth real wide and sucked my worm in deep. I yanked my pole real hard and reeled in a nice channel cat. I found me a nice stick and stuck it in the catfishes mouth and cooked it right there over my wood fire. After I ate I got tired and laid down to take a nap. About an hour later a bobcat woke me up when it started crying out like it had been corned by a bear. I got up and grabbed my pole in one hand and my flashlight in the other and ran to my truck. I tried to jump in but my fishing pole being stiff and all got hung up in the door. I had to turn it sideways to get it in. I stuck my pole out the window and hightailed by to my homestead. About this time it started to get light out. So I went to the barn and milked the cow. I took the milk inside and sat it on the table for a few hours. When it was ready I skimmed the cream off the top and left it out so it could sour a bit before I beat the cream into butter. I made some biscuits and bacon and cooked some country sausage to go with my grits. Once I was full a got in the shower and cleaned up since it was Sunday and I had to go to church.
