Even though it seems counter intuitive the poor students need to be rewarded for becoming good students. Just kicking them out doesn't solve the problem. It continues a vicious cycle.

The problem is public schools but if kids don't perform in the charter schools u want to kick them out back to the public schools. That will create a bigger problem. (This is actually happening already in great numbers)

Why can't we hold parents accountable for their children's education? Parents should be the primary pillar of their education.

the thing about schools in general, especially high schools, they're not a place for smart people to be, right? there's not a single subject I was taught in high school over the course of 4 years that I can't learn more about in 2 weeks watching youtube videos... the way of educating young people in this country is archaic and outdated at best...

that does seem to be the argument against homeschooling... it's weird because homeschooled kids I've met (aside from the ultra religious crazies) seem to be very well adjusted... they attend youth groups, they play sports, many of them work small part time jobs, they're more likely to attend college, more likely to get good paying jobs, less likely to be involved in gangs, drugs, domestic violence, teen pregnancy... but I guess all those things don't transate into the real world if you don't have 1000 instagram posts and 50,000 twitter followers... #socialskills...

The odd girl out on my daughters softball team was home schooled. She was very socially awkward and an outcast. She would get upset at the other girls for "chanting" when they were doing the typical cheers etc. She ended up leaving the team. That's just anecdotal and a denominator of 1 but in here that's good enough.

Did they beat her up and stuff. .?? 😕

There are definitely those types, both in home schools and public/private schools... a greater percentage in homeschool kids? I don't think so but that's just a hunch... i knew some really weird kids in highschool...

They sheltered her from the rest of the world. The "chanting" was the work of the devil.

Her dad would walk behind the dug out and also scream at the girls for chanting etc. One night (after a whisky tasting) I confronted him and told him to never talk to the girls like that again. He got really quiet and sat down. A few parents clapped and thanked me after the game (and since have become friends) and I haven't seen any ofthe family since. I felt sort of bad. Even when the other parents thanked me I felt bad and told them so. i try to keep my mouth shut and not get involved 😟

He's prolly been watching you.... stay sharp man.... 😟

If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure he went home feeling blessed for having suffered persecution for his religious beliefs...
