Love the house and I hope all goes well with the building of the humidor room. Where I live that'd go for at least 1.3

very nice!. real estate prices are astounding, depending on your zip code.

here in No Va., this property would prob push around 1.5 mil to 3.5 mil depending on zip code. a 2600 sf home in arlington's 07 zipper would push the 3.5 number - and they'd tear it down to build bigger!

our little love shack in the barrio (as i affectionately refer to my neighborhood) well out of the "most desired" 'hoods is a 1500 sf 30 yr old split level on 1/3 to 1 /4 acre are pushing 400,000+

You should see the properties that sell for over 2 million in Newport Beach that are torn down to build "newer and better" to suit the wealthy new owners!

That is a nice house no matter where it would be located and I would love to have it myself! especially the new smoking room/humidor, etc...

It amazes me how expensive some of your areas are. I just have one question. Are the salaries that much higher in those areas so that people can afford these exhorbant prices? How can "normal" people afford to live there?

My aunt lives in El Segundo. I guess this explains why she never bought a house.

OK. David, don't you EVER listen to me? My aunt has lived there for 30+ years. My uncle and his wife also live in CA, near San Diego.

Topped for MrsTank. This picture just doesn't show how pretty it really is. A lot of flowers are in bloom and the grass is so green. We were in a 1200 sq ft twin moving to a 2600 sq ft house. There are rooms we don't know what to do with yet. LOL.

Settlement was yesterday (5/31) but we have 2 weeks before we have to be out of the old one. The houses are about an hour apart---lots of traveling the turnpike.

It is nice having the time to move gradually. David had a new shed delivered this morning so I'm sure that and the cigar room will be first on his list. We will post pictures of it when he is done.

i'm sorry all these foreigners living in your white man neighborhood or just walking through it, is so upsetting to you.

imagine what the native americans thought when our ancestors moved into their neighborhood.

a brick house indeed. only in america.

in calif they nail up some 2x4's tack on some chicken wire and sprary cmenty stuff on the outside.

on the inside they nail plasterboard and you have a house. it will stand rain and wind, but if you are on a hill, as you can see on your tv today, eventually your house will slide down the hill like jack and jill,

i didn;t know i was a poet, even 3 months after it had stopped raining and without an earthquake.

the fact that the little earthquakes might have something to do with it, the california earthquake association, a kind of assigned risk policy, won't pay squat because you can't prove the house sliding down the hill is related to any specific earthquake.

Congrats on the new house!

1.3 acres, WOW! I grew up on .75 acres here in So Cal, and I thought that was huge!

1.3 acres in my home town of Arcadia would be turned into 24 townhomes or a new cul-de-sac with 6 giant mansions.

Oh to have land in CA.

Peace,

SWEET! And a good deal too! You 'should' feel guilty about the deal, but no more than 15 seconds. Have fun!

Wow! Nice house, great price! Congratulations

I could sell my 1100 Sq foot 1924 (with a sh**ty 70's remodel on the exterior) home in San Leandro, CA for about $455-$470K. Nice to see people are sane somewhere.

I'm moving in a year or two...sell the shack and buy a real house with half down from the proceeds.

Yeah...provided some great calamity, I expect that my house will have made more money (per year) than the median family in our fine country by the time I sell.

When I bought it I thought...."There is no way this house will ever be worth $400K". I was wrong. Fortunately I live in a town where it is OK to send your kids to public school, unlike some of the cities around here. To a family that is worth about 5 to 10 K per year.
