35 year customer. Never shopped premiums.

My now 24 year old son got 3 tickets 5 years ago tomorrow. Speeding, stop sign, and lane change. Local cop loved ticketing high school kids, but it was his own fault.

Back then they had me sign a drivers exclusion agreement. I did so because he was headed in to the army, and needed to take responsibility and get his own insurance anyway.

Fast forward to now. He's back and working full time. Also going to school full time and deans list. No tickets since then (not really driving much most of the time). Doesn't drink a drop. He has his own car and his own insurance through USAA.

My younger daughter just bought a used car and we covered it under my policy. We get a call saying they are going to cancel our insurance if me, my daughter, and my son do not come in and sign another one for her car.

He doesn't want to drive our cars but there is no way I'll sign another and want the earlier ones rescinded.

They know he has other insurance and keep threatening to cancel our policy. I keep explaining to them that's not much of a threat to tell a 35 year customer if they don't do this they will have to go out and get cheaper premiums for the same coverage somewhere else.

While they keep threatening they don't initiate the cancellation.

Not looking to cover him at all. Just not willing to tell him he's the only person in the world specifically excluded from driving our cars.

Started with Allstate... whole lotta suck. Switched to GEICO, and I liked them pretty well, until they raised my rates for no apparent reason. Switched to USAA and been with them for 12 or so years, I think.
