We watched a 20-20 show about the trial. The prosecutor and dead boy's family insisted it was a case of murder. That is a huge stretch for me, but if hate crime, essentially a state of mind, is a thing. SMDH! 🤦

There was one interesting fact in the show that points to her guilt. During the death investigation little miss eyebrows texted her friends her fear the police were going to read her texts because if they did, they would send her to jail and the dead guys family would hate her.

some would argue she had nothing to do with him getting into the truck... he was suicidal and certain to attempt suicide with or without her bad advice...

she had no power over him, was not an authority figure, and wasn't even in physical contact with him... I mean, Tonygraz once told me to eat chit and die... does that mean if I do choke on excrement someday, he is somehow responsible?

in both cases, one party observed while another party died... no one had physical contact with anyone else...

in both cases, one party expressed a desire to die followed by a desire not to die... and in both cases the afflicted parties were denied their change of heart...

I dunno, seem pretty similar to me... I understand from a legal aspect they are different, but from a moral aspect, they seem similar to me.... in both cases no one but the dead caused death, but in both cases someone could've prevented death and took active steps not to...

The kid got out of his truck and only got back in after she convinced him to. Without her texts, he's very likely alive.

It's almost too bad that she was so far over the top with the texting/taunting. Easy to see her as culpable witch that needs to be locked up for a while. Would have been a more interesting case if she'd have been a bit more subtle. First couple times I heard the story, I figured...stupid kid, morally bankrupt, but not legally punishable. But after reading the content and volume of her abhorrent texting, it's a lot easier for me convict.

what we know FOR FACT is that he got into the truck... he got out, but he got back in again. knowing it would cause his death... no one made him do it... he did it all by himself... that's what we know, FOR FACT...

what she text the guy was basically "you keep saying you're gonna kill yourself... either do it or don't, I'm sick of hearing about it..."... she watched a man die... she didn't kill him...

I don't think she'll do any time.. judges have been known to try to teach lessons.. there will prolly be a push to make some sort of new law tho.. 😟
