check the water supply line and pray that it isnt leaking.

EI is more then likely correct. the junk in the water builds up. whatever feeds the ice maker should be changed when it starts slowing down. it's sort of like hardening of the arteries.

i gave this some thought earlier, and concluded that the drinking water supply worked fine, and assumed the ice maker is fed from the same supply.

i will look at this option, though.

thanx for the inputs.

Too late to call and ask her, but my mom makes ice makers for a manufacturer here in Milwaukee. I will give her a call tomorrow and see what she says.

Howdy,

How new is your fridge? The newer models have a built in water filter that you can replace. My GE has one, and both the water dispenser and ice maker slow down when it needs replacing. The one I have is on the inside of the fridge, but some of the older models have them on the backside.

If your ice cubes are the same size as before, I wouldn't expect a water flow problem. Wouldn't a slow timer motor mechanism be more likely? I think that determines the cycle time.

But sometimes logic is wrong, too.
