I went away for a nice relaxing week-end up in Monterey, to attend the auto races at Laguna Seca. I decided to go off the grid, and devote my full attention to the family group that went up. We had a great week-end!!! No talk of politics...only conflict was harmless college football rivalries, until the UCLA Bruins caused my butt to hurt...

On the drive back, I thought how relaxing it was to unplug from politics and outrage and decided to ignore that stuff for awhile...

Then I looked here for some miscellaneous innocent general discussion gab...WTH is this political garbage doing in here??? Is there a button to report entire threads????

Al, I think that's the point, brother. People turn to sports to get away from the political BS and now we can't do that. Maybe we all need to "go off the grid" for a few days.

But to get away from this tiresome crap you'd have to turn off the TV, radio, computer, phone... and pretty much delete any social media accounts you have.

I remember going to Laguna Seca in 1963? my 53 chevt broke down & we started
hitching, Gentleman who picked us up basicly asked where are you going ?.
Since his main language we used our 8th grade spanish on him. "La Cuidad Monterey" yeah , yeah, he said
off we went when we noticed he was going South, Anyone heard of Monterey, Mexico?
Thats where he was headed. Got him to pull over made it back to Monterey. Got family to pick us up, went back next day and
got the ol 53 running.
