Thanks for the welcome. What would be the best - to use a cutter or use the lance on a cigar. I have tried the lance and am having some trouble getting the circle out.

Lance? I've never heard a punch cutter called a lance (I believe that is what you are referring to) ...

You need to gently twist the punch while forcing it in about a quater inch, and once you pierce the cap, the plug will come right out.

As far as which one is better? It's all a personal preference, though some larger ring sizes may need the punch unless you have a large gauge cutter (or cigar scissors) available.

I use a cutter on any cigar with a tapered end such as a torpedo ... I use a punch cutter on all cigars with rounded ends ... I used to have one that made a rather large punch, but lost it and find that making a couple or even three overlapping holes on the 50-60 ring gauge cigars works well. Slim makes an important point in telling you to twist gently when using a punch cutter ... think of the way you use a knive to slice hot bread ... use the same technique in using a punch cutter and it should work quite well.

Ceracut = new ceramic cutting tool for textile ... too funny. I also forgot you had to rid your house of the 'pee-stained' caprets awhile back ... it's all coming together now ... hehehe!

You know I love pulling the wool over your eyes Slim, I just spelled it wrong. Try Cerra-cut. It has a single ceramic blade, super lightweight, cuts through a cigar like butter.

Hey Slim,if you really want a classy cutter try the Chia-cut,I hear they really grow on you...Har har har!

The Swiss Army Knife cutter is awesome. U can get a great price on them here. I never liked the bullet cutter. I have a V-cutter I occasionally use but I usually defer to the scissor type.
