Anybody here got a Luminox watch? Love the all day every day glow tubes.

Ever sent it in to have the battery replaced and get it cleaned up, etc., to an authorized service center?

Battery went dead tonight at 19:41:13. I keep looking at it though!! D'oh.....

I've seen youtube videos on replacing the battery, which I can do if I have a screwdriver small enough to loosen the battery holder tab thingy.

Don't have a new gasket though. It's good down to 200m, but hey, I don't ever go in the water. 🙂

I have one, I have changed the battery, but the back on mine unscrews and it's a PITA even with a watch spanner tool. I bought gaskets and the tool on eBay. It's pretty easy to bugger up the case too. Frankly, I prefer to take it a local jeweler, though that prolly isn't an option for you right now.

Having retired, mine sits in a drawer and a cellphone is a pretty handy clock. Luminox is a great watch if you need to read it in low light or no light.

If you happen to scuba with it, send it to the factory.

Case backs..... what a problem. They ether screw, have screws holding them on or they snap on and off.

All can be found in water "proof" watches.

Whichever you have the gasket is the tricky part as you want to ensure it is laying flat when you put the back on. Most batteries are somewhat simple to replace its a matter of not manhandling the components.

If you have a strap holding the battery in you should be able to loosen the screw and slide the spring strap to one side to remove the battery.

When placing new battery and sliding the spring strap use a toothpick not the screwdriver or metal tweezers.

If you are not diving or swimming your watch should be just fine for everyday use.

Yeah, I don't scuba. Took the lessons and all, did a couple of walk-in dives, but screwed up my ear and haven't gone back yet.

I was reading and watching youtube videos about removing the back and screwing up the 'environment' in the case and getting dust in there and what not...

But, apparently I've done this before... but I have --no-- recollection of it. 🌫

Got home and discovered I have a little sleeve of the batteries that it uses.

So, I said.. screw it... It's not in warranty or anything. I unscrewed the 4 little screws on the back. Pushed the little battery holder clip over, replaced the battery. It's working again.
