Ok, I live in a 4 bedroom, 2 bath Victorian style house about 3500 square feet by myself. I am looking to put in a den, where I can enjoy my cigars when the weather sucks. I am currently smoking on my front porch in 34 degree weather, thus the idea. Any thoughts on how to handle the smell of the cigar smoke? I am all ears on this one.

I personally use my garage. She is insulated and I have it heated via a propane tank heater for winter time. This works out great for me as it keeps the cigar smell out of the house and gives me a comfortable place to sit and even decorate cigar stuff if I wish. I have a nice little table and chairs out there along with a couple of cigar ashtrays. A little flat screen, some bluetooth speakers that tie in to any bluetooth device for music or TV, a small fridge for my drinks and anyones beer if they so feel inclined, all the man tools incase I feel the need to get my balls back for an hour or 3 instead of the wife carrying them around in her purse. Just my prefered place of being.

Edit: I forgot to answer your question lol. I like the Ozone devices that take smell out of the air. I have used these while working with acetone and collodion in the medical field. They work great IMHO.

To do it right, it is going to cost some dollars.
Been a few threads on this topic.
I did a cheapo attempt at a shed conversion..........epic fail.

You live alone in a house that size, and you've stated you like being single..........so just pick a room upstairs.....tighten up the door seal........take out all carpet and fabric furniture and curtains, and replace with leather and wood..........get a decent in- window air exchange system/AC unit........and call it good.

All by yourself in a 3500 sq ft house. Are you asking for permission to smoke a cigar? Do you sit down to pee?

Man the F up. Grow a pair and smoke em if ya gots em. Unless your mommy is coming over to cook your dinner and she'll spank you for smoking.

DR Mad Vibes, let me say this, the house I own has been in my family since the late 1800’s, when I pass on, it will go to my son, Thus the reason I want to take care of it. I am 4th generation and my son will be 5th. I don’t want to leave a house he has to renovate because of me.

Ahh. Now there is your mistake....

Pop your titty out da boys mouth. Let him worry about him when the time comes. He is more than likely going to tear the house down and build a pig farm. You do for you now.

Lmao a study/ Den is synonymous with man cave, the entire house is my man cave. I even have an entire room devoted to reloading.

So, if you see a room labeled powder room, please refrain from smoking in it, it ain’t a place to powder your nose. I build custom bullets there.

Heat/AC, computer and a recliner in the attached garage. Exhaust setup over smoking area ducted outside.

If youre worried about the smell, no matter what you do it's going to spread throughout the house.

I have a room with a couple recliners, a TV, and a coffee table set up. I had a QuietCool whole house fan installed in that room.

Open a window in a different room, and turn on the fan... sucks up everything into the attic and blows it out the vents. When I smoke in that room with the fan running... you can't even tell. The only drawback is if it's hot or cold outside, you're sucking in hot or cold air.

I have a man cave 12x14 and a reloading room 8x10.........wish both were bigger.I just seal off the door in my man cave, open a window, place fan in window facing outside.I do intend to add a fan that will pull smoke into the attic........just haven't gotten round to it.

What caliber do you reload for?Me I've all but stopped reloading for my handguns,I have thousands of rounds stored.I love to reload for my rifles 25-06,308 and my toy 30-30.

Forgot all about the shotguns........I throw maybe 3-400 12 gauge rounds together every year right before dove season.I probably go through more shells during early teal and duck season but I never took a shine to loading the lead alternates.........I just buy a case or two a year.

So, you're telling me you're the FIRST one in all those years to entertain the thought of smoking?

Is there running water and electricity in the place?

Gimmie a break..."Its for the kids" excuse. Live your life or don't. Just don't log on and cry about it.

At any point did I cry? Hmm, if this is your idea of my life, then you are a sad excuse of a human being and I could care less about your opinion. To see such negativity in an individual is very saddening. But then again, I may live on the now, whilst looking to procure a proper future, at least I don’t whine about it. If you don’t like me, too bad. I don’t really care. I live my life on my own terms and to hell with anyone else’s opinion. I started this thread looking for options. I have received a few along with criticisms, none of which are warranted or with merit. So, to coin a phrase from my generation, Bite Me. There, enough said.
