And here's why.

On February 19th I ordered a rifle that had been on my radar for sometime.I found it in Missoula Montana brand new in the box.These had been out of stock everywhere......especially the left hand version which I shoot.Anyway I paid by CC over the phone,called my FFL guy and had him fax up his info.Gun arrives feb 23rd I run over that evening bout 4'ish.I do the standard q&a form for NICS.Me and my guy shoot the schit about 15 minutes and my request to purchase is delayed,says if he hasn't heard from the FBI by the following Tuesday it is ok to proceed with the transfer.The following Monday my guy calls me and says......."you ain't gonna believe this schit..........they just sent a denial".I get home that evening and figure out the proper course of action,which is an online form labeled "Why have I been denied a gun purchase" or some schit like that.I fill it out and submit it that evening.After submitting it says it could take up to 5 working days to get a response.Well about 10 am today,5 DAYS LATER,my guy calls and says "Ron I got a response ........it just says proceed with transfer".Great but one of my buddies had picked up the rifle the day after the denial in his name.Conrad and I had a good laugh,I told him I would forward on my response from these jackasses when I got home.Well guess what..........these lousy excuses for a **** stain on the couch sent me no reply at all.No apology for any inconvenience,no we're sorry for violating your rights ........not even a **** off and die you gun hoarding **** sucker.Saying I am pissed at how this was handled is quite the understatement.**** NICS........lots of ways around it,they'll never hear from me again.

Yup. They'll do that.

I've not been delayed yet, but I also primarily stick to private party sales. Only go on paper about once every other year.

High rate of false hits here in Oregon, and our POS governor has directed the State Police to follow up at the point of purchase as soon as it's denied. Hasn't been one arrest and I've not heard of them responding once. It's a fact that gun grabbing big government loving fools fail to see. Laws aren't being fully enforced.

It's just going to get worse. No government ever advocates for freedom. Might as well count your blessings and thank God they haven't found a way to cart off whatever firearms you have.

I love Trump but he is kind of being a pendulum on the issue which is getting very annoying. Now he says it's fine to usurp due process. That's freakin scary.

We are having to rely on media reports and other second hand information. I hope the reality was a much narrower proposal.

I can see some narrow application similar to: a person attempting to commit suicide might have their firearms picked up until they can be treated. Some level of crazy act(s), as defined by law, could have been used by police to act in the case of the Florida shooter. Still scary, but at least a method to act against some nutters.
