Never had a Morel, but love the Sheepshead (Hen of the Woods, Maitake).

Ranchers will be putting their cattle out for free-grazing, so I'm hoping to find a few psilocybin this year!

Ground temps need to be atleast 42 degrees. Look for burnt forest from last year. Where you find one there should be more.

Mushrooms...blech...although I haven't had morels...don't think I really want to try them though.

Yep still too cold here. Hank a morel isn't a typical mushroom.

There used to be old man on my way to one of my customers who sold fried bluegill fillets and morels out front of a mom and pop gas station. That was some good eating. I'm sure he's since passed or at a minimum not able to do it anymore. I hadn't thought about it for a few year but I really miss that lunch...

There is a morel kit on amazon to start your own. They say that once it is established it can produce for up to 25 years. I was thinking if you have some woods pick an area and plant them or if you have a garden or greenhouse try there. I got tired of paying outrageous prices for asparagus and started growing them myself in large pots. Just needed the starter and from there rest is history.

^^^ Man, I bet that root is huge by now, (Get your mind out the gutter!) yep it will keep spreading and spreading. Yep asparagus likes full sun but will tolerate partial shade. If the PH is around 6.5 to 7.0 you will have the stuff growing out your ears.
