I know that some cigars can be and will be defective. It seems I have been smoking decent sticks as I sample but alot of my sticks develop large or small hole. This creates and issue regarding the full intensity and flavor. Is this happening to anyone else?

Where are you buying these problematic cigars ... how long have they been in your possession before you lit them ... what are the conditions you are storing them in ???

best guess from here is that you have a beetle problem ...

Take a sample of some of your cigars that has hole(s) in them, point the foot down and tap the cigar.

If fine brown crap falls out, you got bugs. The brown crap is literal statement.
