What are your cigar collecting goals? How many smokes are you comfortable managing?

I've got a 20 count humidor and it's empty. My goal is not to collect, but rather to smoke. 2,000 or less.

At one time I had close to 5,000 CC's and it was a handful to say the least. Mostly, full boxes. I tried spreadsheets to attempt to keep it organized. It was practically a full time job making sure everything was humidified, inspected (monthly) and rotated from different coolerdors to and from my active stand up humidor cabinet. It started to take the fun out of it. So I quit collecting and smoking. I now have probably around 100 CC's and I pretty much have no idea what I have beyond a few special sticks. 🌫

Thanks for the insights. I'm usually @ 100-250 and am trying to keep a nice rotating top shelf of 30-50.

250 cigars, I can't remember when I had just 250 cigars.

Now I have changed what I smoke. I smoke what I want and if it's the last of the great ones, so be it. Life is short.

You all know 250 ain't ****.....you must be bored 🍺

My top shelf is whatever im smoking in the next month-everyday smokes mixed in with some special ones; I don't keep all my top shelf chit in the top shelf. So its a manual transmission and it runs off of blood sweat and tears.

We're not bored, were fuqin crazy and immature.
250 cigars...
That would last TonyG about 40 days, give or take.
It would probably last Buckwheat 10 years......or more.
I'd probably smoke that in a year.

It's all relative.
250 cigars IS a lot of cigars by the way...

Hahaha! Yup, “The King” is just messing around! On this site it’s a rite of passage for nOObs to be ridiculed at some point. It can be rather sophomoric but ultimately it’s a test of your skin thickness. Since you’re a stick shift kinda guy, you should do okay.

Btw, “...blood sweat and tears...”? Frankie will be along shortly to ask if you know David Clayton-Thomas.

My friend told me "I've got too many cigars." My response was "You never have too many......only too little space". His response - he just built a cedar lined wineador.....and is buying more cigars.

My goal is to have so many that letting them get some age on them is no real hardship. Having no record system can bless you with many surprises.

I have been tempted to buy or make a wineador and to this date have resisted it due to the complaints on them. I would love to see a well engineered cedar lined cooler. I think that would solve the humidity loss issue on them.
