I'm with Victor on this one, in that I'd honor an individuals wish to be called whatever they wanted.

The problem is when people get upset if I use the wrong pronoun.
I see someone in transition, I automatically would refer to them by whatever they seem to be. So a dude wearing a dress I would likely say "him".
If I got to know the person and they requested to referred to as "she", then I'd gladly do so.

But don't blame me for not knowing up front.

And yes, I've been chastised for not knowing.
But don't blame me. And don't adopt a name like Chris or Jody. Go for something more obvious to help us out.

Meh.... I used to think that too..but if you consider development, you can identify a manner through which you could end up with variations from a binary gender....

What pisses me off is when stupid parents push this decision on little kids... A 9 year old offed himself last week cause his mother told him it was ok to be gay and sent him to school in girls clothes.. guess what, he was made fun of and couldn't handle it... Now the mother is blaming the other parents... The mother should be stoned for abuse... 😟

^Ya, the leftist PC chit these days is on a whole 'nother level of stupid.

On the current topic, and still on the topic of stupid... even most the left leaning people I know think adding a boat load of new pronouns is stupid.

If you can't have a word in mind to identify the gender of someone just by looking at them because there's more words that anyone really cares to remember, then the addition of the new language is stupid.

If you can't introduce yourself without going through your list of pronouns, then the addition of the new language is stupid.

If you have the expectation that the person you told the pronouns to of remembering it, whether it be he, she, xe, ze, they, co, xe, hy or absolutely no pronoun... and knowing going in that you'll be mad if they f*ck it up... then the addition of the new language is stupid.

Think about it, languages have evolved for several millennia to get to where they are with their simplicity... Why would anyone want to screw that up?

He, she and they are sufficient. It doesn't need to be any more complicated than that.

And only a serious azzhole would demand that other people always refer to them without using pronouns... that's just stupid too.

A friend of mine out here has a kid that is getting ready to go to college.

They recently went to the states and visited 8 schools.

She said that at 6 of the schools, during the orientations, the 'students' involved in the orientations all had to say what they identify as.

This is really, really sad.... but mostly it is so STUPID!!!

Just my 2¢...

Excuse me... you want to identify as something? How about dumbazz!!

My take is simple...I'm 50 years old and live in Pigfuckle, Missouri. Pretty much none of this stuff applies to me as I do not hang out with Millennials or the people that worry about this sort of thing and I got a wang and like the Poonani. I call people as I see them and if I get it wrong, well, sorry and I'll call you whatever you want unless you get $hitty for not only not knowing but also not caring. Be whatever you want. If you ain't hurting me or mine, I give no $hits. This is for young people to sort out...not me.

What a pile of 💩. The same group who wants to self identify is pretty much the same group who complains about different identies being treated poorly. It reminds me of a book I read when I was and adolescent. There was a tiger who chased his tail around a pole until he turned into butter. It may have been written by Rudyard Kipling (sp?).

Now drs offices are asking what a patient identifies as. My answer: a person.

My feelings on the trans community (and the overall LBGTQ community) have evolved somewhat.
I still don't see anything wrong with siding with biological science for identification, however. Males, females. Period. Now, if a person has undergone real, physical modification of aspects of their gender, such as a sex change, or medically administered hormone 'adjustments', I will concede some true 'trans' aspects and acknowledgement. (Was a time not too long ago when I suspected that any tendencies or 'desires' to deviate from biological sex determination was a psychological issue. I've come to believe that there are SOME FEW people who probably should switch sides.)
Someone who is 'pre-op', 'pre-hormonal treatment' that suggests they are something other than a man or a woman is lying to themselves and trying to make us ignore that fact.
I still believe that many along that masculine/feminine spectrum do actually have more mental issues than physical ones. It's that group that I have a very tough time with. It has gotten so its impossible to even suggest some sort of psychological/emotional 'issues' in today's public/social arena. I find it ridiculous that we should be expected to accommodate every individual 'identification' and deny biological science.
