Man I feel for the pupper and for yall. When we lost Rocco it was a huge kick to the heart. Even though he is gone he is still a huge part of our lives. We talk about him still almost everyday. Our other dogs do things that remind us of him regularly which is actually a good thing. It has brought laughter and tears to us both. We enjoy talking about all the good times and the crazy things that only Rocco would do. Even though it does remind us of him being gone, it also reminds us how lucky we was to have him in our lives and those memories I would not trade for all the money in the world.

My wife actually went and had Rocco's name and the date we lost him tattooed on her arm with a puppy paw print. His urn and photo still sits on my wifes side of the bed on the bedside table. I still catch her sitting there looking at it and vice versa. We still will pull out the photos of Rocco and look at them often. He was a huge part of our lives and he will be it seems for the rest of our lives.

Enjoy what time you have with em, Take plenty of photos as they will come in very very handy later on.

When my wife and I go over the photos of Rocco and we start talking about the things he would do it is almost as if he is still here but in a different way. That my friend is a great comfort for us and gives us both a deep feeling of warmth. Then we get to talking about when we lost him about how all of our friends including here on the forums had stepped up to console us in our loss. This just added more to that feeling of warmth when it comes to Rocco. It is really something great that comes from something so awful such as loss.

So I would say, Take in whatever time you have left with the pupper and hold tight to the memories with both hands, Take plenty of Photos even if it is with a chity cell phone as they will help in the long haul and become one of the most prized possessions that y'all will have.

I am so sorry Ewok to hear of yours and the wife's loss. Drafter, sorry to hear about your pups also.

Sledn and I went through it when we lost our pups in 2012. We had a baby in Feb. 2012. Pups passed 6 months later. She had cancer at one point but went into remission. Sprained her ACL. Pancreatitis bouts. Coughing up blood clots. She passed with Sledn and I holding her here at home. We also had her cremated. Her picture is on yhe front of her urn. It used to sit downstairs. Now it's in the kitchen.

We share stories of her. Still hurts deep. We never could get another. Our youngest is allergic to dogs and cats. We think about getting one that wouldn't bother his allergies, but just never do.

My thoughts and prayers for you all in this. Such a hard thing to endure. With yhe fur babies it's nothing but good ole unconditional love.

Oddly enough, I got a 2 pack of whole chickens at Sam's club. She wanted me to do one beer can chicken and she's keeping the other for a different dish.

Home from camping.

Think the transmission may be giving up in my truck. Full throttle to back the camper up the stone driveway. Usually needs generous throttle but never foot to the floor, usually get tire spin before I get there. Not today.... Eased into it and stopped moving, kept pushing until I was on the floor and still wasn't moving... Set the brake and chocked the wheels while we unpacked to let it cool. Half hour later I was able to back it the rest of the way up as normal.

The 2-3 shift has been odd and under heavy braking it doesn't downshift quickly enough and often need to idle forward to get to first.

Just hit 4500 hours on the truck, but only 115k miles.

Here is to an end of a great day well minus the migrain early on.

My wife got to see all the birthday wishes from friends and family. My neighbor, his wife and a friend of his came over. We all sit out in the garage and raised a glass of Monkey Shoulder to the wife and wished her a fantastic birthday. She really loves that stuff and so do I. I never thought I would like a triple malt but it is pretty dang tasty. We hashed out plans for the Halloween party that the wife and I are hosting for all the neighborhood kids deciding on what I am going to cook and games for the chidrens. My Neighbor, his friend, his wife and I also enjoyed a nice cuban cigar while talking all this over. My wife bless her doesn't smoke cigars. I am still trying to get her to try it but she refuses lol. It is not often I get to have good days but when I get to see my wife happy and enjoying herself it just seems like everything else goes to the wayside for a bit. It was a great day indeed.

Have a good one folks.
