I probably asked this ten or twelve years ago but my memory ain't what it never was. What does 'balanced' mean to you? Ever notice that 99.4% of all C-Bid's cigars up for bid are balanced? Seriously if they are all balanced does that description even have any meaning? Obviously if they're all balanced we can't really use that as a reason to bid can we? Sarcastic responses are welcome. Thanks.[sarcasm]

I believe balanced is when you can sit it on the ashtray holder and it doesn't fall in it or off it. Pretty worthless description imo because everyone sits it in there differently.

I thought it meant that the cigar had been strongly influenced by Taoism so it has some kick ass Zen and its Yin & Yang are equal.

I'd define it as no single flavor "note" unduly or excessively overpowering the others. Balance means they all work together in harmony to make a wonderful whole.

By the way, time is often the best thing to create balance. Many cigars are unbalanced early on, but get more balanced with time. For example, right off the truck a cigar can have a harsh edge that overpowers the subtler flavors. A few years later, no such problems. The harshness is gone and the flavors have "married", creating good balance.

Of course, this stuff is hard to put into words exactly.

Wasn't there a creepy actor named Jack Balance? Balance in a cigar must mean unsettling.
