What are you making? What can't you have thanksgiving dinner without? Whole cranberries or the gelatin stuff? White meat or dark? Lumps in the mashed potatoes or the finely riced variety?

I love making turkey and I love making mashed potatoes... But come thanksgiving no one ever asks me to make either... 🤔

I can take a hint, so I leave that stuff to others...

What I am asked to make year after year is cheesecake and dinner rolls... I don't fiddle much with the rolls recipe... I got it from my dad and he got it from some lady named betty... She was great at what she did, so I usually make them pretty much as she recommends...

Cheesecake, I take some liberties... I've got real pumpkin this year so probably a white chocolate pumpkin swirl er something...

Might try making a pie this year... Never done that before...

Also harvested yesterday and got some nice trim... Making butter now, considering turning it into caramel candies...

Probably round out the evening with some melanios since I found out my brother in laws brother in law is getting into cigars...

I'm working Wednesday - Friday night. When I worked days on Thanksgiving, I always fried turkeys for the team. New team has a guy who does that, so we'll be working together on frying... and my plan was to make some more pork belly burnt ends. BUT - Sam's has no pork bellies, and neither does Stater Bros, or anyone else. The Asian market has some, but they look awful, so... no.

I'm gonna keep looking over the next couple days.

Don't care what the entree is as long as it ends with pecan pie.

I'll be working a 12 hour shift that day. We can't leave the building during our shifts, so I'll be having a microwave Pace Ready Meal with some Tostitos and a Clif Bar... probably.

I approve this message... pecan could be substituted with banana cream, as well.

Both cubs and families will be arriving Wed, so when they are around the wife ensures there is plenty to eat.
Wed:
boiled shrimp
Boston butt
mac and cheese
slaw
fruit
pumpkin roll

Thur:
baked ham
roast turkey breast
mashed potatoes
sweet potato casserole
green bean casserole
cranberry jelly
fruit
key lime pie
peanut butter pie

Fri:
Lasagna
salad
french bread
fruit
pumpkin roll

Not going to bother listing her planned breakfast menu's for Thur-Sat. I do see plenty of post meal naps in my immediate future.

Going to the oldest son's in laws, we do Christmas and they do Thanksgiving. No telling the exact menu, it's a pot luck thing with baked turkey and ham, but someone always brings deviled eggs. We are bringing sweet potatoes with a pecan and brown sugar crust.
