I have carefully and thorougly seasoned my 100 ct glass top tabletop humidor - but there seems to be a 7 - 10 pt differential between the bottom and top. The shelf has plenty of openings for air that are not covered, I have a humidifier in the bottom (Xicar gel) and a couple of black ice sections ones on top. Top is at 62 - 65 bottom is around 70 or even goes to 72. Any thoughts?

What is the difference in height?
12 inches? More? Less?
How are you getting these readings? Two separate hygrometers?

For a 100ct glass top wood humi?
I'd simply throw four, 60gm, 65RH Boveda packs in there, put in your cigars, and call it good.

Put the bottom humidifier on top and the top humidifier on the bottom, Also put the cigars in the bottom on top and the cigars on top in the bottom. An alternative is to take the tray out and turn the humidor upside down every other day as Drafter suggested. Get back to us if you still have wet bottom problems.

Thanks -- having consulted the internet, I've learned both that humid air rises and that humid air sinks. Someone should manufacture a rotisserie humidor. I'll keep trying to switch around the humidifiers -- have tried a few different configurations, or maybe just get rid of the tray on top, it seems obvious that would create a barrier.

I've been told that wrapping each cigar individually in a lettuce leaf works....just don't use Romaine until they get the salmonella problems worked out....8-[

I heard that Drafter grows his own. If you ask him nice he may send you a few plants.

If the humi is empty then fill it.Once cigars are in place most of your issues with humidity variances will disappear. An empty humidor is next to impossible to stabilize.

Easy fix here!

1. Rotate your cigars on occasion
2. Quit being so intense on such a little difference in the two readings for a small humidor. If you where dealing with a 5 foot cabinet then you could add fans.

Just my OP. Good luck.

Any time, I am fairly new at it myself about a year of experience or rather a year of teachings from the fellows here, In listening to the old timers here I was able to cut my worries out all together, reduce the trying to "Micromanage", learned to enjoy the hobby of cigars, and most of all! I learned that most of what you seem to find on the internet is just a bunch of chit from phuggers that just like to talk with their pinky out. Ex: videos, people lip smacking and slobbering all over themselves talking about how they taste molasses along with some more lip smacking and slobbering, followed with how they also taste Daisy flowers and moms meatloaf with a hint of lady bug chit form 1970 etc etc... According to most finds on the net prime relative humidity is 72. BS I say, for me I like lower levels and I am talking in the mid 50's. So with my cabinet which is 5 foot tall range can be from 55 in the bottom to 69 in the top. On occasion I just rotate shelves and forget about it. No fuss, No Muss, and Enjoy Enjoy Enjoy. I could add fans but why waste the money and time when that cash can go to more cigars. When a hobby gets to be more like work then it is not an enjoyable thing for me. Again just my OP. If I have to micromanage something I would prefer it being with my meds that keep me alive, not my hobby. Good luck with it all and don't be afraid to ask. Granted expect some razzing for asking but its all in fun.🍺
