Yikes.......some serious new starting prices at the other place for several of my staples.

Might even have to start shopping here again...

Looks like the same happening here now...

This is one reason why I've always advocated the strategy of "buy as big a schittload as possible, as early as possible" to build up a giant collection at the low low prices of yesterday, so you can laugh at the big price increases (and regulations, bans and taxes) of tomorrow, while your collection is improving with age the whole time*.

* (Some guys say cigars "peak" then decline in quality, but I've never experienced this, rather what I have experienced is continual improvement but at a diminishing rate after awhile, but never a decline).

Another fun aspect of my strategy is that, after awhile, the initial expenditure has long since been paid out, and has been forgotten about. You don't "feel" it anymore, it's not a "thing", it was long ago.

At this point, psychologically it's like owning a well-stocked cigar store that only lets in one customer (you), and all the cigars are FREE!

WOOHOO! It's like being in heaven without having to die first! 🇨🇮

You do know that "that other place" is owned by this place?

You be talking about a different other place I think...

If it was headquartered in Tampa and purchased by Swedish Match last year, then it's the same vendor

You may be right... I figured he was talking about the other other place, but it looks like the tampa place might have some new complaint-worthy prices....

Interesting....I assumed he was talking about a place with a cigar auctioneer....which is, I think, very different from this place

I don't know what kotc bids on at the place that auctioneers cigars, but I didn't notice any obviously new prices... The Tampa place had a couple of offensive starting prices though, so I'm guessing that's what kotc was talking about..

I didn't even know the Tampa place had auctions....haven't set virtual foot near them in over a decade

If you notice, the website format looks strikingly similar to Cigarbid. 🤔

They had some good prices recently... But I alwaysfind myself settling... Like if I wanted tat blacks, I could get them there for cheap, but never the size I wanted...

and, on more than one occasion, I received a cigar from them that was vastly different from the exact cigar sold at a b&m... Flor de las Antilles robusto's and the AVO Syncro's specifically come to mind...

Just looked and it is vastly different from what I remember. Pretty soon they may have to drop the rule about competitor mentions.

I didn't know that happened. Just confirmed, same platform, unless the other other place copied the html without permission... But I'm pretty sure that didn't happen.

Pretty easy to imagine two independent companies buying auction platform from same developer....just like many different forums look alike

Problem with auction platforms, is there's not a huge market for auction platforms.

So I see that scenario as unlikely.

That and they were selling Ave Maria Divinias on there.
