Jimbo ... KC pulls off a big win? ...
when I saw that, I thought perhaps the Royals had helped the A's and knocked off the Mariners yesterday, but then noticed they'd actually lost to the M's in extra innings ... the only other KC team I know of with a game yesterday was the Chiefs who LOST their game ... oh, I know ... that 40-39 final score is a little confusing ... on the face of it, seeing that score would have you believe the Chiefs won ... it would be more realistic if the score read "Browns 39 - Chiefs 37 - Zebras 3" ...
And before you guys get in an uproar with me, I know why the call was made and understand the rule behind it ... and, I agree in general with the rule and it's application ... I just think it was horribly mis-applied in yesterday's game ... (or, more accurately, AFTER yesterday's game).
I frankly couldn't care less about the Browns or the Chiefs, who wins or who loses ... but let's get real ... when the game's over, it's OVER ... will they next summon teams back to the field from the tunnel to the locker room in order to have a non-overtime bit of extra play when some player violates a rule that would apply IF the game were still in progress ??? ...
It's almost comedic ... reminds me of the "pine-tar" game between the Yankees and the Royals some years back ... that turned out to be a mis-applied ruling which was later reversed ... this is equally ridiculous and should also be reversed by the league ...
