Shot in the back in the Dominican.

There just might be a very ugly story being sanitized right now, hope not though.

Always liked him.

Looked like a 9mm casing on the floor. Also looked like fmj. Cheap effer.

Latest one:
Some DR drug lord put out the hit because Papi was banging his wife.

If he was, maybe it was his wife who put out the hit. Genius because she'd know they'd think it was the drug lord.

He played major league ball to get away from a poverty ravaged place and has made enough money to make sure every branch of his family tree could be taken care of. Keep the bling at home and don’t go flaunting your wealth to a bunch of people without a pot to piss in, all it takes is one ticked off punk with a gun to end it all.

I though he was going back to help things. Didn’t see much bling in the video. I was actually surprised how common he looked. Motorcycle dude must have had a good eye for bling (or seen it earlier)

If the message is once you get rich never return to your roots I think that’s sad. Maybe safer, but sad.

never been to the Dominican, so it's all hearsay, but the word for years is that he is a yuuuge, beloved hero there.
not to say a percent of poor don't resent him...but that's a long stretch to make the case for motive.

I can confirm this was true last time I was there, although I was further north in Puerto Plata at the time.

Yordano Ventura was several tiers lower in that respect but went back to help etc. following his fatal crash folks took all his possessions rather than trying to help him. Desperation is poison

JGK you may be right. I was just going by what I saw in the black and white video and that it doesn’t look like a robbery.

Ventura had bling and it was stolen rather than trying to help him. Sad.

DR sounds like the Wild West.
