Hey everybody. I have an Acid sampler which came as a promo with a purchase. I am curious how they taste. They have a perfume type aroma and I am not sure if I will like them. Thank you for any input and advice.

only way you'll know for sure is to put them to the test of fire...I've smoked a few Acids and other infused cigars many years ago, when I got into cigars...

it's been awhile since I smoked one and I never think to myself, "I think I want an Acid today"...I prefer the unadulterated taste of pure tobacco leaves...

Standard trajectory, Gunner. Most guys start with the Glade/Potpourri type sticks, then quickly outgrow them and switch to just pure tobacco cigars.

They're great as an "on-ramp" to the good stuff though. My pal calls them "gateway cigars". It's hard to go from nothing directly to non-flavored, for a lot of guys.

So we should all thank the Acid folks for causing so many "cigar guys" to be initially created, even though they all dumped the Acid sticks after a few weeks or months.

I could handle the occasional Liquid or Blondie, but really, if I want something flavored, there is a whole world of pipe tobacco out there (and a whole bunch that is quite good with no added flavoring) that is better, IMHO. $6-7 corn cob pipe is a cheap and easy way to find out if that's to your liking.

Acids are, in my experience, a love 'em or hate 'em cigar. The Natural line, which I think is now Luratan (I'm guessing the FDA or someone had a problem with a tobacco product being called anything close to safe) is less pronounced, and while they are reportedly made from traditional and/or exotic pipe tobacco, I've had one line of those that tasted like they were dipped in pure liquid saccharin. The Acid line is, IIRC, said by Drew Estate to be housed in huts or whatever filled with essential oils. They say "infused", not flavored, but whatever the process, they definitely have some aroma and taste that usually defies easy description.

I can tell you from a brief time of having a shpo that they were big sellers for us, but so were more typical flavored. Like we had to keep a pretty steady supply of both coming in. Someone likes them, and they've been making them for years. The only real way to tell is to try each and every one (except the Nasty, which to me, has to be the most aptly-named cigar ever).

One key is to store them as separately as possible. Anything that rooms with them will start to smell and taste like the, given enough time. For individual smokes, maybe Ziploc bags. For B&O, I found the best results from getting some clear plastic yellow-top jars that seal tightly from that jungle place. I'd get the Boveda packs (here, of course) and pop one into each jar, keeping the various lines separate. That actually worked really well, and in the jars, I think I'd have to replace the Boveda packs maybe every 4-6 weeks in a place that had AC. YMMV.

Those were my favorite DE. The Dirt Torpedo was my go to. The last ones I got, the cap was so sweet it was distracting. They were the last ones for me to part with. End of an era. 🌫

Had to look it up. The Pimp Sticks were OK. It was the Irish Hops that tasted like a mouthful of pink package sugar substitute. I gave them a rest, tried another...same problem. To their credit, when I mulched the rest into the garden, nothing seemed to die from that, so they can't be all bad. Oh, and some reports say DE changed the name to avoid a legal tussle. Usually a smart move...the best fight you have is one you can head off before it starts.
