So my wife and I got season tickets to the Blackhawks this year. Took my oldest to his first Blackhawks game (preseason). My buddy and I went to the game Saturday, and we always try to get the crowd going with "let's go Hawks" chants, wasn't really getting the crowd going that night. Except for two girls (maybe 4/5 and older sister 6/7). Every time we shouted, they were right there with us. They were 3 rows in front of us and 20 seats to our right, they kept looking at us the whole game waiting for to stand up and join in, we loved it, so after the 2nd period, me and my buddy Tony ran down to the store and found some Tommy Hawk (mascot) plush stuffed animals. Looked at each other and said "yup" so $40 bucks later we go sit down in our seats. And as soon as I sit down, the guy behind me if you are doing what I think you are, that's a awesome move. So we waited until the 3rd started and we waited till the girls looked up to us, we did a let's go Hawks, we pointed to them, then the stuffed animals. They smiled ear to ear as we tossed them to them, the people in our section cheered. It was great. So now by buddy and I got the idea that we have to do something like this at every game. So I just went on to the NHL shop store which had a sale that ends tonight (perfect timing) and found some cheaper options to do this with at every game we are at, I got 3 different types of stuffed animals 25 of them and 5 big throw blankets all for just under $200. Hopefully my buddy can buy some more stuff to add to a bag we will bring to each game and give one or two things away each game. Making kids smile is priceless. LETS GO HAWKS!!!
