eh i love fly fishing. but my go to spot for the fall coho run is as urban combat fishing as i can get without getting physical. not the best for someone who has a tough time biting thier tongue. plus its heavily slavic brothers from all over the former eastern block, and while im in the club, i dont look like a member. so they get real surprised when i toss some friendly GTFO replies in their native tongue ( covered 3.5 languages last time out )

But yeah, posting up next to you, wading through your drift spot, overcast, overcasting to offer to untangle just to check out your fly, not taking a line out when you have a drag screamer on, snagging the fish you have on.... all the great stuff.

ironically, once they learn im in the club. they try to become friends, offer to buy flies or fish. some crazy chit.

funny, ive grown up with the fully understanding of never be a rat, but i find myself advocating for fishing regulations more than PETA members lately when people keep snagged fish.

plus my fall run flies have been doing work lol

yeah. I fell once fishing, but I was just a kid and my father said I didn't have to fish anymore.

Mid fall to mid winter is my favorite time to fish in the mid Atlantic region. The salt water species like
striped bass( known as rockfish in these neck of the woods) are heading down the bay with a big appetite.

The panfish like yellow perch and crappie are schooling up in predictable deeper holes and hungry.

The largemouth fishing is the best at this time of year than probably any other time next to (maybe) pre spawn.

And, probably the best thing about fishing this time of year is it's hunting season in these parts and there are less
yucka pucks on the water and more in the woods.

Opening day of firearms deer season is the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I will put my boat in the water and might not see
another boat all day. Rain or shine I will catch more largemouth this day than any other day of the year.


You guys down south should be absolutely crushing them. I can tell you firsthand that Lake Sam Rayburn is on fire
right now.

running gloves. usually grab a pair from costco every year and the old pair become altered to fish or hunt
