They let m shower. That was the fight. The CNA left me on the toilet to switch myself to the shower. Sh said by the time you get to showering you don’t need help anymore.

She let me self transfer on a wet floor when they won’t let me even go to the bathroom myself.

Meh.

Did I mention I have cool titanium X-men clamps in my chest?

The weight will go down as long as you're peeing a lot.

The pulmonary edema will subside once you've peed off a good bit of that weight.

Did they remove your pacemaker wires already? Some surgeons pull em pretty early, we typically keep em till damn near discharge day and you can't shower with em in.

She went off on them, went and found the nurses, went off on them, found out their supervisor was in the cafeteria and shot down there and went off on her. She was looking for my doctor when her and the surgeon crossed pathes and he finally got her calmed down. Never saw those two again.

My level of care went way way up. LOL.

This may be a good thing in the long run.

Should be about right.

Pain control usually happens around day 3-4. Seems to coincide with pooping, which also happens between days 3-5. Also chest tubes are usually out by that time which is a significant source of pain. That stabbing feeling you had in the armpit, under the breast, or between the shoulder blades is the chest tubes jabbing you on the inside.

Days 5-6 people usually start doing more things for themselves, mobility and appetite starts to improve, and start feeling a sense of normalcy.

Just keep your mind right. You're on track, and no major setbacks. Even the things that are getting you down, are minor. They may seem major, but you're on track and doing well.

Following your progress and it's been mirroring my patient almost exactly up until I left Tuesday morning.

My patient transferred out of ICU yesterday, but was stuck in their head super depressed about the afib, and the bipap mask with the pulmonary edema, and the pain issues...

All normal things that happen. We hope they don't, but they do, and we're prepared for them.
