Survived.
Dad aging fast and feeble. Mom hit two glasses of wine in 45 minutes. Sister showed up 30 minutes later for lunch. My aunt- one of the coolest people ever. My wife handled everything in stride.
Better than expected overall.

Back to work in the morning.

Happy Black Friday.
Went to the nearby outlets last night to go to North Face and Columbia for a rain jacket, but we couldn't find a single parking spot so we just went home.#-o

That was my experience the last two times I tried to do black Friday.

Cooking the turkeys for our family get together tonight. My wife needed evaporated milk for a pie last night so we went to Walmart. 545pm ish. Packed full waiting for the turkey death sale that was starting at 6pm. Holy ****. Got our stuff and bailed. No way would I walk into that willingly. What an ugly mess.

Morning folks. Goal today is to make it home from the NW suburbs while dissuading Mrs Beach from as much Black Friday nonsense as physically possible

Tree is up and ready for the lights. Wife is putting lights around the windows then I get to put 2,500 lights on our tree. Then she will do the ornaments (since she doesn't like how I do them) kids got a 230 Dr appointment since now they are sick. Blackhawks play at 3 today, I sold my tickets so I can get Christmas done and some cleaning at the house.

Work done. Have a gut full of leftovers. Cocktail canceled.

Trading the time in for a nap and a cigar later.

Made it home safely from Indy.

Ate some leftovers and drank a beer.

Looked at some stuff online, but I'm pretty sure I'm done Christmas shopping. Definitely not going to any stores today.

Been raining and there is more forecasted for next week.

Need to get new tires for the wife's car today. She probably has a few months left, but with the rain... better safe than sorry.

Tires ain't cheap.

I hear you. Had one tire blow which made buying two necessary last month. Bam! $400 sucked out of my account.

Yup... wife's car (and mine, since I have the same car now) have the damn run-flats. Since there is no spare... they're kind of necessary.

Bought myself a new cellphone.

Last time I bought one was 2006ish. Maybe 07.

I've had two replacements since then, but both were insurance claims and whatever they gave me. I think it was a Galaxy 2 maybe 3 and then a Galaxy S6 Active. I loved my S6 Active but it's beyond end of life at this point. I get about 30 minutes of use on the non replaceable battery. Will last about 6 hours if I don't use it. For the last year or so I've been carrying a battery pack and just keeping the phone plugged into that all the time.

Damn phones are expensive.
