I just found fuzzy white mold (I mean plume, lol) in the foot of my last Bucanero Full Sail and Tat '09 Cojonu. I snipped the bottom inch off both and they look clean. Looks like I'll be smoking both of these real soon. This happened a couple years ago with a couple OR Rats and an OR T52. Humidity in all my storage is kept in the high 50s/low 60s and I always use distilled water, so I have no idea why this happened. It has only happened to naked cigars, never to ones in celo. Oh well, heading outside to smoke the Bucanero.

If it's on the wrapper, you can usually wipe it off with a soft cloth. If it's in the foot, some will tell you to toss the cigar, but I'm not tossing these two, so I snipped about an inch off the foot. if these where current production cigars, I would have tossed them. The Bucanero is smoking good with no hint of mold. 99.9% of my inventory is in cello, but if I find mold on a naked cigar, I will remove it from storage, and either toss it, or clean it up and smoke it right away. You always want to remove a moldy cigar immediatley, and clean the are where it was sitting.

Immediately pulled off all the cellophane, wiped off the spots, checked my humidity (63) put them all back in and am a bit concerned for the rest of my collection now. Since you've only had them for a month, and your humidity is 63%, they where probably stored soaking wet before you received them and need time to dry out. Just keep an eye on them.

On a side note, I lived in Audubon for 61 years before I finally escaped last May to Free America in the NC foothills. Dude, you need to escape before Murphy closes down the border.
