I've been to those sites. Auschwitz, Dachau, and Buchenwald. You can still feel the horror, it is unholy ground. My nervous system was all over the place. Honestly, all I wanted was out, it was oppressive, but I continued, I never wanted to forget that visceral reaction. And it is seared in.

I was with a friend/colleague that lives in the former DDR who had grown up under the Soviets. He was 40, and was even more uncomfortable. While predating his generation, "It was my people Vincent" It is is stain on German soil that will never go away, but that is maybe a good thing. It should not be forgotten. Thought there are those trying to erase or at least diminish the memories.

It must never happen again.

I know it has, in other places, Cambodia, Bosnia, Africa, but we, as the human race must remain vigilant and do what is necessary to prevent it, or stop it.

Never Again.

yet it has happened again and again to others.

a day of emotion going on. hope I can find my balance today.

will be an introspective day of contemplation...if that makes sense.

Don't think any words can describe the horrific acts that were committed in those camps.
