I know we joke about cigars we have to relight over and over again as being fireproof, but I had one today that really was. It was a La Aurora 1495. When I tried to light it, all I got was a little white ash and black soot. No matter how long I kept my quad jet lighter on it, it refused to glow. After multiple lighting attempts, I would snip off an inch or so of the foot and try again, but with the same results. Finally, I just pulled apart what was left but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I smoke approximately 1,000 cigars a year (12k - 15k lifetime) and have never experienced anything like this before. I have smoked over 200 of the LA 1495 and have found them to be extremely consistent. Weird.

Never use gasoline on a cigar it burns to fast and hot use diesel burns alot slower more time to enjoy the smoke.

Kerosene has a much better aroma when burning though. Having been in the service diesel smoke brings some very unpleasant memories associated with that smell to the surface. Don't want those when I'm smoking a cigar, especially when holding a cigar. 😣

Yeah I have 4 boxes aging that are 3 years now had a box of man of wars that were really good after 3 years they are gone now.

Bummer. LA always seemed to have good QC in my experience. Though I did have an Escogidos burn weird on me once. Ash split into three directions like flower petals

Yes, I remember those. Thankfully I only won a five pack before I found out that they required multiple relights. You know how when you light a cigar and the tip glows orange? Well this one never developed the orange glow. Every time I tried to light it, I just ended up with some white ash and black soot. Thousands and thousands of cigars and this was a first.

I had a similar issue with the Zino Houston,TX Art cigar that they made a few years ago. Could smoke it down about halfway and then it just died impossible to relight.
