I'm new to using the Boveda 84% packs to season a humidor, so I need a little help. I have left them in there for 2 weeks now and the humidity is at 69 to 70%. Should it not be at a higher humidity than that by now? I calibrated my digital hygrometer before I started the seasoning process, so I know that is correct. There is a glass window on the top of the humidor, could that have a leak? I just don't know what humidity it is suppose to get to by the end of the 2 weeks. Should I go ahead and drop the 69% packs in and put the cigars in and see what happens?

69% is fine, the humidor will hold humidity easier WITH cigars IN it.

I would toss them in buddy.

I know that 69% is good for the cigars. Since i'm using the 84% packs to season, the humidity shouldn't be higher than 69% by now?

If it’s a new humidor I wouldn’t worry about it. Boveedas are great but at this point I wouldn’t use the 84% after putting the cigars in the humidor.

High humidity = mold
High temp = beetles

Low humidity = you can usually bring them back
Low temp = takes away humidity

So if you wanna pick a side.....I keep mine @65%

Not a fan of glass top humidors mainly for two reasons
1. The can leak and will leak at some point.
2. With a glass top temperature regulation can be tricky.

Now add sunlight and you have a disaster in the making.

what humidor do you have? There was one glass top humidor offered here that I was reading reviews on that many were having to re-seal the glass top so it would hold humidity properly.

and WTH have you been for almost 1yr 9 months??

Ditch the humidor, stop by Harbor Freight and buy yourself an Apache case. Put your 65% bovedas and your cigars in there and call it a day.

Two way humidification like the Bovedas offer work best in a sealed environment. If you're trying to use them in a China humidor worse yet a glasstop, you're going to have a bad time.

ClintCigar it is the Whitetail II humidor. I'm gonna throw the cigars in there with some 69% boveda packs and see what happens.

Another advantage of 65 over 69. If you house is climate controlled your rh should be 55. Your 69 boveda will dry up a lot quicker since you are asking it to change rh a much greater spread.
